This photograph embodies what Berlin is to me. A corridor of an old building in Prenzlauer Berg, old tiles on the floor, bikes waiting for their owners, a beautiful light and a very old heavy door... People believe that Berlin is a crazy city and well, it's not that true, it's quiet, easy living, relaxing and of course it can be crazy if you go you know where ( Le Trésor si ma mémoire est bonne ) but to reduce Berlin as a crazy city where you just party & do drugs is always making me smile.
PS : Altibzz. Autechre.
beautiful, this also reminds me of the building that we stayed in in Poland, it had an amazing front door too.
ReplyDeleteThere is no Georgette anymore !
ReplyDeleteLa photo de killeuse !!!
ReplyDeleteI was never too familiar with Berlin, & have heard about the 'crazy' parts only after reading David Bowie's biography. But I'm vicariously falling in love with the city after seeing Sandra Juto's photos & now yours. :)
ReplyDeleteIn a way Berlin feels like no other place, but not for the party scene, not for me either. Such a lovely foto!
ReplyDeleteOhIi was also staying in Prenzlauer Berg when I visited Berlin in October...and this is exactly like the corridor to my friend's flat!!! Yes this is Berlin for me too!!!
ReplyDeleteit's funny how your description reminds me of paris too (although i've never been to berlin...)!
